Title: The Last Day of Mikau
Fandom: Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Characters: Mikau, Lulu and the rest of the members of the indigo Gos
Rating: General/Teen for some mild language
Summary: In Majora's Mask, Link arrives to the beach at Great Bay Coast where he finds a flock of seagulls hovering in one spot in the water. When he swims to that area, he finds a Zora named Mikau of the band The Indigo Gos floating face-down and helps him to the shore. After Link hears Mikau's story of attempting and failing at saving the eggs of their band's singer Lulu, Mikau dies. This is my interpretation of the events which led to Mikau's inevitable death.
Notes:This story was inspired by the many hints and clues that were sprinkled all around Great Bay Coast, most of which were to help towards Link's ability to complete the mission himself, but left much open for certain speculations. I've taken pains to present as accurate an interpretation as I can, leaving no stone unturned, and no game dialouge incorrectly written. Also, it might be helpful to know during reading that his name is in fact pronouced Mee-Kay-Yoo. Some of the Zora names were made up for the purposes of the story. And yes, Zora is capitalized.( Mikau couldn’t shake the strange sense that came over him, even making the scales rise on the back of his neck like spindly fingers when Evan came to him this morning, just before the dawn and told him of the disappearance of the eggs... )
